Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) 1-Day RefresherTraining
 Description
This half day workshop is a refresher course for staff previously trained in at a 3 or 5 day ABA training. There will be a review of the ABCs of behavior and reinforcement systems followed by opportunities for troubleshooting previously tried strategies.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) 5-Day & 3-Day Training
 Description
5-DAY: 5th Day of training will be in a classroom. The objective of this intensive training series is to teach participants how to use effective, research based strategies when working with children with Autism in Autism specific classrooms. The training will cover ABA methodologies including Discrete Trail Teaching, Verbal Behavior, Task Analysis, Shaping, Chaining and Reinforcement Systems. Teaching social skills and play will also be discussed. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice the techniques presented directly with students in the classroom environment. Presenters for this training are Board Certified Behavior Analysts. 3-DAY: JULY 23-25 will emphasize implementation of ABA techniques in a typical SDC classroom. The training will include all of the topics of the 5-DAY training as they pertain to the SDC environment. The in-class hands-on training will NOT be included in the 3-DAY program.

VPSS Mathematics Level II
 Description
Students must have the opportunity to learn what is required for high school graduation regardless of the size and setting of their high school experience, whether it is an opportunity class, a juvenile court school, a special education setting or small rural school.  The subject matter verification process in mathematics is designed to support teachers in these settings to teach California Academic Content Standards with confidence and competence. Level II will focus on the conceptual themes in Algebra, Number Theory, Geometry and Probability & Statistics.  This professional development will teach skills and concepts through hands-on, group activities and directed instruction.  the objective is for the teacher to leave with the belief that they have been given content and pedagogy that could be delivered to their students.  This will help students pass the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) and graduate from California high schools with the content knowledge and skills to compete in the global economy.
