Participants in this workshop will learn about early childhood brain development including an overview of the brain growth process, a brief introduction into brain anatomy and what brain development tells us about a child’s functioning at different developmental stages. Attendants will also learn how a child’s early relationships with caregivers mold and shape the brain development process and the long term implications for the child’s behavior. Workshop participants will be introduced to Attachment theory, understand why it is important, and be able to define what a secure vs. insecure attachment status can do to a young child and their brain.
